Sales Engineer

MidTechV has an immediate opening for a Sales Engineer to work from the Indianapolis Office. This Outside Sales position has the responsibility for selling a portfolio of technical products and services to the industrial and commercial marketplace. This includes Systems Integration services for SpecPlus! Automation, Mechanical Design/Engineering Services, Control Panel Fabrication, as well as Data Collection/Remote Monitoring systems for the FactoryNOW division. Products sold also include Industrial Computer systems, imbedded computer/control components, and flat panel displays for OEM and Military applications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent sales skills, a technical understanding of the products/services sold, and a familiarity with industrial computer equipment and industrial systems. Sales territory includes Indiana, Southern Illinois, Southern Ohio, and Kentucky. We will consider both entry level candidates with a technical degree, and experienced sales engineers.

Co-op Student/Intern

Our FactoryNOW division has immediate openings for co-op student / interns in the Indianapolis Office. This part time position is flexible and can accomodate your class schedule. The ideal candidate will be a student earning a technical degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science, with a heavy emphasis on computer programming. The job involves working closely with Senior Technical Staff, to implement software enhancements for our FactoryNOW product. Activities will involve programming Web applications in Visual Basic, php, and java with interfaces to Microsoft SQL server and mySQL databases. Interested applicants MUST have completed relevant programming classes or have demonstrated experience using at least one of these tools.

CONSULTANTS

Our SpecPlus! Division consults with a variety of companies to solve problems, identify needs, and specify information and control systems which will improve the clients productivity, quality, and competiveness. Consultant opportunities are available for a variety of technical disciplines, as well as for those with general business and management skills. Consultant positions are available full time, as well as for independent contractors. The successful consultant candidate will be self motivated, have excellent communication skills, extensive implementation experience, and in-depth familiarity with a specific industry or application of technology.

CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

The Control Systems Engineer will specify, design, and implement factory-floor and process control systems. The engineer will work closely with clients to define system requirements and will assume project responsibility from the concept stage through successful startup. The successful candidate will be self motivated, have excellent communication skills and familiarity with Allen - Bradley PLC’s and Industrial PC control systems. Other PLC platforms, DCS, software integration and network configuration skills a plus. 2-5 yrs. experience and B.S. in Engineering required.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

The Software Engineer will develop real-time software applications for industrial control. Target platforms include personal computers, workstations, and embedded controllers. The engineer will work closely with clients to define system requirements and will assume project responsibility from the concept stage through successful startup. The successful candidate will be self motivated, have excellent communication skills, knowledge of Visual Basic, C or C++ language and familiarity withMSWindows XP, Windows Server platforms, and Linux. Co-op experience a plus. BS in Engineering or Computer Science required.

CAD DRAFTING / GRAPHICS TECHNICIAN

The CAD Drafting/Graphics Technician will use AutoCad drafting software and other graphics software tools to develop comprehensive documentation for industrial control systems. The CAD Drafting Technician will work closely with engineers who design control systems, and make drawing sets as well as illustrations for technical manuals. CAD Technicians will also assist in graphic development of screens for software programs used in the industrial environment, as well as Web Pages to be used on the Internet and intranets. A working knowledge of drafting, standards, blueprint reading, graphics software, and especially AutoCad is required. Both electrical and mechanical drafting skills are needed. A two year associates degree in drafting, with AutoCad training is preferred.

CONTROLS TECHNICIAN / PANEL FABRICATOR

The Controls Technician will assemble, test, install, and assist in the startup of computer and PLC applications for industrial control. The Controls Technician will work closely with engineers to fabricate control systems, wire, and functionally test them. The successful candidate must be quality-oriented, possess good craftsmanship skills, and be familiar with wiring and control panel fabrication methods. The ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints is a must. No degree required for quality, skilled craftspersons, although a 2 year associates degree is preferred.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The Office Administrative Assistant will work in the front office assisting with the day to day Administrative Operations. This includes a performing a variety of functions, including receptionist, telephone answering, typing, filing, and operating office equipment. Excellent computer skills are required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office. The successul candidate will be neat, organized, efficient, personable, and work well with others in a support role.

Inside Sales/Marketing Coordinator

The inside sales/marketing coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the sales and marketing efforts of the company. This includes handling sales inquiries, developing marketing materials, maintaining customer and prospect databases, performing mailings, handling newsletter publication, and related sales tasks. Will require intensive telephone customer contact and lead qualification, but no direct outside sales.
